ECA is delighted to announce the On the Friday we shall be at the United Hebrew Congregation (UHC) and on the Saturday at Etz Chaim Synagogue (left) followed by two and a half days of intensive teaching sessions and masterclasses at UHC on the very best of cantorial practice and the music of synagogue worship. The Convention will include a 10th European Cantors Convention Theme: Shabbat and Special Shabbatot Cantor Greenblatt (below) from Tel Aviv is widely known over the Jewish world as one of the foremost cantors, teachers and cantorial composers of our time. Maestro Jaffe (right) from Jerusalem is an international orchestral conductor, music director of the Jerusalem Great Synagogue Choir, director of the Central Cantorial School in Petach Tikva and creator of a Cantorial Music Festival in Lavi, northern Israel. The convention will start on Friday afternoon 19th June, followed by the choral and Cantorial Shabbat and will end at 1.00pm on Tuesday 23 June. This magnificent Shabbat 19/20 June will be shared with the delegates to the International Conference ‘Magnified and Sanctified: the music of Jewish prayer’ which takes place at the University of Leeds from Tuesday 16 to Friday 19 June.
